Learn how to develop, assess, and manage standards focused PBL in your classroom using TCOE's PBL 10 Core Characteristics.

This training engages participants in learning about PBL through direct instruction, video analysis and hands-on group work.  Participants have the opportunity to plan, design, and receive peer feedback on an engaging project using models and tools developed or adapted by Tulare County Office of Education.  Participants will explore the California State Standards shifts and standards to ensure rigor and relevance in each project.

Call Katherine Goyette at (559) 651-3031 ext. 3325 or email her for more information.

pblCORE Project Based Learning Training of Trainers (T.o.T)

train-the-trainersThe Tulare County Office of Education model for Project Based Learning, pblCORE, was developed by our team of consultants, including Joy Soares, PBL Consultant, Nationally Certified BIE Trainer, Linked Learning Certified Coach; Dr. Jen Francone; and Michelle French, STEM & PBL Consultant, K-12 Alliance Trainer.  Our core purpose in developing this work was based on our knowledge that Project Based Learning can initially be trained, yet must be coached to implementation and sustainability within school systems.

A structured process, pblCORE is designed to support educators in developing and delivering effective instruction focused on building transferable skills that prepare students for college, career, and life.  The pblCORE process is an integrated approach for designing, implementing, assessing, and managing Project Based Learning.  The ten characteristics of PBL, California State Standards and Instructional Shifts, 21st Century Skills, Depth of Knowledge, the Three Rs (Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships), and conceptual curriculum mapping are embedded in pblCORE.

Trainings can be attended either at TCOE, or at your school site.

Certification is for an individual at a district only, because the license will be granted to the district, not the individual.  An individual cannot become a private trainer.  The certification would be valid should an individual move to another district, and that district has pblCORE or chooses to purchase the license.
