Connecting Over COVID: Utilizing SEL-Focused Lessons to Create Community As We Return to School

  • Dates: 09 – 09 Mar, 2021
  • Location: Via Zoom

AUDIENCE: K-8 Teachers, Coaches, Administrators

Are you looking for ways to connect and build community in your classroom as you return to in-person learning? This training includes eight lessons grounded in social emotional learning and the California Health Framework. The training also includes integrated content from ELA, ELD, and HSS with built-in options for adapting to different grade levels. These lessons do not explain what COVID is or how to "stay safe," but instead deeply explore our varying perspectives and feelings that surround our current context.

The goal of these lessons is "to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students and to encourage peers to show respect for others regardless of differences (3.8.1.G, Health Promotion).
