Conceptual Foundations of Fractions - Grades 3-8 - February 16, 2021 (Registration link)

This session will focus on developing a formal understanding of fractions by building on students' understanding of whole numbers. Participants will learn to use visual representations in a virtual/hybrid setting to develop understanding of partitioning, comparing, and fraction equivalence.

Addition and Subtraction of Fractions - Grades 4-8 - February 18, 2021 (Registration link)

This session will develop a conceptual foundation for addition and subtraction of fractions by connecting students' understanding of whole number operations and basic ration knowledge. Participants will use various interactive models adapted to a virtual/hybrid environment.

Multiplication and Division of Fractions - Grades 4-8 - March 2, 2021 (Registration link)

This session will focus on building on students' prior knowledge of multiplication and division in order to understand these same operations with fractions. Participants will learn routines and strategies to support students in developing conceptual understanding and fluency.
