A Night at the 21st Century Museum

Description of Event

This event is an opportunity for schools to showcase grade K-12 students' exemplary Project Based Learning (PBL) experiences by providing a forum for students to present their work and receive feedback from an appreciative public audience!

Teachers and students were encouraged to submit high quality projects from all content areas.  Presentation modes may include live performances, displays, digital media, and any other creative and unique way to demonstrate 21st Century Learning and/or communicate an innovation or solution to a problem.

Museum patrons will experience how California State Standards implementation is transforming learning and teaching in a rigorous and relevant way.

How Projects Are Chosen

This event is an opportunity for students to showcase their rigorous and relevant 21st Century learning experiences by providing a forum to present their work and receive feedback from an appreciative public audience.  There are three ways for student-created projects to be have been included in A Night at  21st Century Museum event.

  1. Students, parents and teachers were encouraged to submit a Project Proposal to participate in A Night at the 21st Century Museum. The proposal was then reviewed by the Museum Curators. The Curator then contacted the school to set up a meeting to go over the project.

  2. Students who participate in other student events were invited by the event’s TCOE Consultant to participate in the Night at the 21st Century Museum event.  Teachers associated with the project were required to submit a Project Registration form which was emailed upon request.

  3. Museum Curators invited rigorous and relevant projects by students that they come across while working in the field. Teachers associated with the project were required to submit a Project Registration form which were emailed.
