Calling All Civics Teachers: Taking it to the Streets!

    09/10/2018 08:30:00

  • Location: Visalia
  • Address: 7000 W Doe Avenue, Elderwood Room
“Civics enables students not only to study how others participate, but also to practice participating and taking informed action themselves.”
— CHSS Framework & C3 Framework

Take civics learning for high school seniors beyond the textbook. Equip students to understand and affect public policy! Gregorio Medina, Senior Program Director at Constitutional Rights Foundation, will walk participants through the process of integrating a Civic Action Project (CAP) into the Civics/Government classroom. Join us for an exciting day of learning how to engage students civically without having to rearrange your entire curriculum. Leave this training equipped to facilitate students becoming active citizens and effective change agents in their communities!

Mr. Medina has over 20 years of experience in providing support to educators and program staff seeking innovative strategies for increasing civic engagement among youth at their school- or community-based sites.
