    07/20/2018 08:30:00

  • Location: Visalia
  • Address: 7000 W Doe Avenue, Suite A, Willow Room
Looking for a way to invite your students into writing? What better way to get them excited about authorship than to create their own books for others to read!

This interactive workshop will get you thinking innovatively about how to motivate your writers through creation and construction of a variety of unique books—the perfect fit for enthusiastic young authors to share with an audience.

We will use mentor texts as inspiration, then offer the “how-to” and the materials for you to construct several styles of books that can be replicated with your students. We’ll address ways to prepare students for sharing their work via Book Talks, Author’s Chair, Young Authors’ Faire, and family or community literacy events.

Participants will walk away with instructions and completed samples to make a variety of student-friendly keepsake books, along with a number of ideas for sharing with an audience. Let us help you connect reading, writing, and the arts in an engaging way, and make writing a memorable experience.

Join us for a day of creativity and hands-on fun as we learn ways to build enthusiasm for the art of writing.
