NGSS Science Standards Final Version Released
The NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) FINAL version were released on April 9. The next step is 3-4 public comment meetings held throughout the state through July. CDE will then make their recommendation to the California SBE. The SBE will have until November to act upon these new standards.
8th Annual Region VII Literacy Conference
Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Literacy Conference. This year's theme: Common Core: Literacy Across Disciplines. Keynote speakers will be Dr. Anita Archer and Dr. Vicky Gibson, and breakout sessions include: Integrating Technology, Computer Using Educators, Disciplinary Literacy, Math Literacy, Close Reading Strategies, and Project Based Learning.
New Chamber of Commerce Smarter Balanced Informational Flyer for the Business Community
The American Chamber of Commerce Executives, in collaboration with the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, has developed for businesses and the business community an information flyer regarding the Smarter Balanced assessments. The flyer is available on the Community Partners tab of the CDE CCSS Web page.
Infuse Creativity and Collaboration into your After-School program with On Stage
On Stage is TCOE Theatre Company's exciting two-week after-school program to help schools in Tulare County prepare on-site theatrical productions. We bring props, costumes, sets, musical materials and talented directors to schools and oversee productions, such as Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr., The AristoCats, or The Jungle Book. What a wonderful way to integration both Creativity and Collaboration into your school's curriculum!

Heidi Hayes Jacobs Webinar Available
